About the role: To enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the Catering Department's daily operations by personally prospecting, selling, planning, and servicing corporate and social events while maintaining Four Seasons standards and maximizing revenue and profit potential. This role will assume full responsibility for the operation of the Catering Department. What you will do: Participate in the pre-opening team. Supervise daily catering operations, including maintaining the accuracy and effectiveness of all written communication such as Menu and Event Proposals, Contracts, Banquet Event Orders, Catering Resumes, Daily Events Report, and Delphi Input Standards. Assist in preparing and analyzing weekly financial forecasts, pace reports, monthly production recaps, and contribute to the annual marketing plan and budget. Actively prospect, handle inquiries, develop new business, and maintain a portfolio of current accounts to ensure a full pipeline and exceed revenue targets. Finalize bookings, maximize revenue through upselling, and ensure effective communication with all departments for event success. Supervise banquet event execution and ensure client satisfaction, reviewing all function spaces and resolving any issues during events. Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to meet client needs. Maintain knowledge of resort facilities and operational needs of all departments. Make timely decisions balancing client needs with resort safety, staffing, and financial goals. Participate in and facilitate meetings with hotel staff and clients, including planning visits and menu tastings. Assist with inquiries within sales, marketing, and catering departments, including high call volume and site inspections. Conduct performance evaluations, mentor staff, and assist in hiring, terminating, or disciplining employees. Facilitate training for new staff and understand event management processes. In the absence of Event Management, host and ensure effective Banquet Event Order and Resume meetings. What you bring: College degree preferred; relevant experience considered in lieu of degree. 3-5 years as a Director of Catering or similar role in a luxury resort or hotel, with experience in corporate and social markets, including weddings. Leadership experience preferred. Proficiency in English, interpersonal skills, and successful client interaction history. Strong personal selling and relationship-building skills. Coaching and people development skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work long hours, including weekends and evenings. Negotiation, delegation, and pressure management skills. Basic knowledge of audio-visual equipment, internet, telecommunication technology. Knowledge of Delphi Sales and Catering Software, MS Office Suite. Creative, multitasking ability, and physical stamina to stand and walk for extended periods.
