TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified PCU RN in Columbus, Ohio, 43210! Pay Information $2,039 per week About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: PCU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour; Day 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years required License: Valid state or compact license required Certifications: Must-Have: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Preferred: ONS Chemotherapy Description: This is a mixed acuity unit that cares for both PCU and Med Surg patients. The unit is very busy and involves caring for surgical oncology patients. All permanent staff is PCU trained. The staffing ratio goal is 1:4, but it can be adjusted to 1:5. Weekends may vary based on unit needs. No set or blocked scheduling is offered for permanent staff. Self-schedule requests are allowed. The first week of orientation will be Monday to Friday on dayshift. The second week consists of 36 hours of on-unit orientation with a preceptor. Patient age groups include adults and geriatrics. Common patient diagnoses include various types of cancers and surgical oncology cases. Special procedures performed in the unit involve chemotherapy, blood transfusions, and IV antibiotics. The unit also handles oncologic emergencies and has a heavy focus on infection prevention and fall protocols.
