Job Title: RN - OncologyJob Specialty: Oncology Nurse, Infusion RN, ChemotherapyJob Duration: Full-TimeShift: Day ShiftsGuaranteed Hours: Not specifiedExperience: Minimum 1 yearLicense: Current, unencumbered Utah or compact state RN licenseCertifications:- Current BLS and ACLS certifications, or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire- Current ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Administration Certificate, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hireMust-Have:- Knowledge of infection control principles, patient safety techniques, and prevention of adverse reactions to medications/treatments- Demonstrated critical thinking skills in rapidly changing circumstances- Self-motivated, able to work independently and as part of a team- Excellent customer service and communication skills- Professional handling of sensitive information and maintenance of confidentiality- Ability to manage stressful situations calmly and professionally- Reliable and timely with work schedules- Flexibility and willingness to accept other duties as assignedJob Description:- Provide direct nursing care following established scope and standards of practice, aligning with the organization's policies, procedures, protocols, values, and mission.- Conduct and document thorough assessments of patients' health status before, during, and after chemotherapy infusion sessions.- Monitor, record, and communicate patient conditions as appropriate.- Safely administer simple to complex infusion therapy for chemotherapy and non-chemotherapy treatments.- Monitor and document vital signs, symptoms, and overall response to treatment.- Manage and document side effects, both acute and chronic, appropriately.- Collaborate across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including discharge needs and referrals for physical, financial, spiritual, and psychosocial support.- Evaluate learning needs of patients and families, providing education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.- Validate and document patient and family understanding of teaching.- Implement and monitor patient care plans.- Participate in quality improvement initiatives.- May precept student nurses and new hires.- Maintain professional growth and development through ongoing formal and informal education and clinical nursing study.- Float between oncology/infusion and wound care departments.Additional Information:- Non-exempt, full-time, benefited position- Collaborative and supportive workplace- Professional growth opportunities, including continuing education and training- Drug-Free Workplace, requiring successful completion of a pre-employment drug test and background check- Equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusionLevel 4 Trauma CenterBlue Scrubs preferredRecognized Holidays: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day
