Job Description
Alexander Steele are working exclusively with an established food manufacturing business in Midlothian which are actively recruiting a new Technical Manager. The ideal candidate has worked previously in a Technical Manager role and has a background in food manufacturing. Roles & Responsibilities Act as the lead technical contact for major retailers, auditors, and external stakeholders Lead and prepare for all external audits and customer visits, maintaining high site standards Manage, mentor, and develop the technical team, with a focus on training and capability building Oversee raw material and supplier assurance, including specifications, traceability, and compliance checks Drive continuous improvement across food safety, quality systems, and site-wide technical practices Support NPD and process development to ensure smooth, compliant product launches Champion quality standards across the site, working closely with operations to embed best practices Oversee robust allergen controls, including effective changeovers between nut and non-nut products Own all aspects of technical compliance, documentation, and BRC audit readiness (targeting AA grade) Maintain strong visibility on the factory floor to reinforce a culture of food safety and quality On Offer £50,000 - £60,000 annual salary Monday to Friday - office hours 28 days AL Pension If this role is of interest or you require further information, please apply with your most up-to-date CV and I will be in touch!
