Job Title: Radiologic Technologist Job Specialty: Diagnostic Imaging Job Duration: Full Time Shift: Day, Night Rotating Shifts Guaranteed Hours: Not specified Experience: Preferred 1 years of Radiographer experience License: Radiologic Technologist (RT) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) Must-Have: Completion of a Radiology Program, high proficiency in patient positioning, and safety protocols Job Description:- Perform and demonstrate competence in Radiology under the direction of a Radiologist in a Level II trauma hospital setting.- Acquire proper exams independently for Radiologist interpretation.- Operate all radiological equipment appropriately.- Work with patients in pediatric, geriatric, and other critical acute care settings; adjust techniques and positions for optimal examinations.- Conduct fluoroscopy examinations, utilize c-arm in operating room settings, and perform portable exams throughout the hospital.- Provide imaging services to outpatients, inpatients, and emergency department patients, accommodating ambulatory, non-ambulatory, acute, and chronically ill patients.- Ensure exam room presentation, patient transportation, and entry of exams into the Radiology Information System are maintained.- Schedule radiology exams, educate patients on exam preparation, and manage correct orders and paperwork for records and billing.- Communicate efficiently with medical staff as needed.- Acquire and maintain knowledge essential for the PACS.- Share on-call responsibilities, with requirements for evenings, weekends, and holidays as directed.- Report equipment malfunctions or failures to supervisors or relevant maintenance staff promptly.- Adhere to all policies and procedures established by the Medical Imaging Department, facility, and organization.- Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of patient positioning, DR and fluoroscopy principles, quality control, and planning.- Assist physicians with procedures as necessary and consult with Radiologist when needed.- Prepare patients and equipment for procedures and educate patients and families appropriately.- Administer and document the correct amount of contrast using aseptic techniques.- Offer a supportive learning environment and embody exceptional customer service.- Collaborate with other imaging departments to ensure seamless patient care and workflow.- Contribute to the technical education of imaging staff, physicians, and radiography students.- Proficiently handle multiple complex tasks, including outpatient examinations, trauma patients, non-ambulatory acute, and chronically ill inpatients.- Practice radiologic safety to minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff.- Focus on patient satisfaction by effectively scheduling appointments and obtaining accurate documentation.- Maintain the department's upkeep, cleanliness, and supply stocks, and report malfunctioning equipment as necessary.
