IT Officer - Cape Town

About the Company Our client is an international logistics and supply chain leader with branches across Southern Africa. Their operations depend on real-time systems and responsive IT support, particularly at busy distribution centres and warehouse hubs. The environment is dynamic and fast-moving, requiring a proactive and resilient support professional. Role Overview The IT Officer will serve as the first point of contact for all on-site IT-related issues at the Cape Town branch. You will handle everything from desktop support to network troubleshooting and ensure IT systems are fully operational at all times. Working alongside the national IT team, youll play a crucial role in minimising downtime and supporting users with timely, effective resolutions. Key Responsibilities Deliver first-line support for hardware, software, and network-related issues Respond to IT incidents logged by users and provide efficient resolutions Assist with software installations, patching, and updates Set up workstations, maintain IT asset registers, and track equipment movements Liaise with the national IT team for escalations and ongoing projects Troubleshoot LAN, WAN, printer, and connectivity issues Support shift-based teams and ensure minimal IT-related disruptions to operations Participate in IT audits and ensure adherence to company policies and security standards Requirements IT qualification or certification (CompTIA A, N, MCP, or similar) At least 3 years' experience in an IT support role, preferably within a logistics, warehouse, or 24/7 operations environment Hands-on troubleshooting skills across Windows OS, networking, and Microsoft Office Strong problem-solving ability and ability to work without constant supervision Own reliable vehicle and valid drivers licence (non-negotiable) Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with technical and non-technical users Willingness to be on-site full-time and provide after-hours or on-call support when needed Whats in it for You?
