Construction Materials Technician

Description DUTIES: Conduct material sampling and testing of soils, aggregates, asphalt concrete, and concrete during placement on active construction sites. Interpret project specifications and working drawings. Perform field inspections, testing, and sampling. Ensure proper use and maintenance of equipment on assigned projects. Accurately obtain and legibly record field data in an organized manner, as required by project plans, specifications, or staff. Generate and compile comprehensive field reports. Document daily installed construction quantities. Communicate effectively with all on-site team members, including contractors and owner representatives. Maintain open and timely communication with all relevant stakeholders. Ensure the proper maintenance of assigned vehicles and equipment. Understand and strictly adhere to all public health and safety requirements and established safety procedures. Main projects currently are for city of Highland Park and the DWSD (Detroit Water and Sewer Dept), but this person could be on municipal projects throughout SE Michigan. Will work on average 10-12 hour days, 5-6 days per week, possibly an occasional Sunday. If a work truck is available, they will be issued one, and can you throughout the week. If one is not available, will be able to expense mileage. Experience Level Intermediate Level Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.
