Salary : $45,635.20 - $56,014.40 Annually Location : Ohio 44118, OH Job Type: Full Time Job Number: 2002 Department: Public Works Opening Date: 06/12/2025 Closing Date: 6/19/2025 11:59 PM Eastern Description INTERNAL PSOTING ONLY Primary responsibilities will include the pruning, removal, and planting of trees on city tree lawns and properties. Individual must have 3 year's experience in the use of chainsaws, chippers, stump grinders, aerial lifts and cranes. Must be knowledgeable of and trained in all safety procedures as they relate to tree care, driving, and equipment usage. Must have 3 years' experience in roping and rigging techniques. Examples of Duties Climb trees Prune, remove and maintain trees and vegetation Manually load trucks with logs and other materials Operate chainsaws, chippers, stump grinders, aerial lifts and cranes Operate bucket trucks and other equipment around energized lines Clean work area of debris and any other misc items Respond to after-hour emergency calls Perform landscaping and snow removal duties as assigned Typical Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Arboriculture related education a plus Must have or be able to obtain an Ohio Commercial Driver's License (Class B) within (6) months of hire and have a good driving record Knowledge, skills and ability to use the tools and equipment related to tree maintenance Ability to maintain records and prepare reports Available to respond to emergency calls 24/7 Excellent physical condition and have the ability to lift 90lbs independently Reliable attendance required Ability to work well with other Willing and able to perform all duties as assigned Must have ISA Arborist certification within 1 year of hire or able to obtain The City of Cleveland Heights offers permanent full time employees an excellent benefits package!
