Job Description Prime Time Healthcare Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg / Telemetry for a travel nursing job in Omaha, Nebraska. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg / Telemetry Discipline: RN Start Date: ASAP Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Location: Med Tele / Ortho RN Facility Type: Acute Care Hospital ️ Unit: Medical Telemetry / Orthopedic ‍⚕️ Position: Registered Nurse (RN) Shifts: 0630–1900 or 1830–0700 Duration: 13-week contract ‍♀️ Float: Yes, to similar MedSurg units ✅ Requirements: Experience: Minimum of 1 year recent MedSurg/Tele experience – No first-time travelers Certifications: BLS – Required ACLS – Preferred License: Active and unencumbered RN license Background: No license or background hits permitted Driver’s License: Must be submitted with application for 50-mile radius verification Facility Restrictions: Radius Rule: Candidates must live 50 miles from facility May not be currently employed (full time, part time, or PRN) at any CommonSpirit Health facility (including CHI and/or Dignity) Orientation & Skills Testing: 2-day unit-specific orientation Must pass open-book skills exam during Friday orientation (90% or higher required to continue contract) ‍⚕️ Unit Details: Beds: 55 Patient Ratio: 1:5–6 Support Staff: CNAs (1:10–20 ratio) Charge Nurses (do take patients) Tele Techs available; RNs expected to have basic tele interpretation awareness Common Diagnoses: Joint replacements, ortho trauma, fractures GI bleeds, colon resections, prostatectomy Sepsis, COPD, pneumonia, cellulitis, FTT Drips: Heparin, ketamine, lidocaine Equipment: PCA pumps, mechanical lifts (every other room) Additional Info: Scheduling: Self-scheduling allowed; limited block scheduling Weekends: Every other Holidays: 2–3 required (Thanksgiving to New Year’s) Floating: Yes, to other MedSurg units as needed Scrubs: Navy Blue (not provided) Patient Population: Diverse population including Spanish-speaking, Karen, Burmese RTO Policy: Max 7 days RTO per 13-week contract — must be declared upfront No additional RTO will be approved post-submission Ideal Candidates Are: Organized, proactive, strong with time management, compassionate, and highly team-oriented.
