Senior Buyer Introduction A vacancy has arisen for a Senior Buyer reporting to the Supply Chain Manager . The purpose of this role is to source and deliver technically appropriate, high-quality equipment, products, and services at the best price, within a sound commercial and legal framework. This is a dynamic role suited to self-starters who can work independently and respond proactively to procurement requests. The procurement portfolio is diverse, covering both OPEX and CAPEX spend. The ideal candidate will enjoy a challenge, have a desire to grow their knowledge of the company and its technology, independently seek mentorship, and continuously find ways to improve and streamline their work through efficient time and energy management. Collaboration with internal departments to resolve challenges and provide timely feedback to stakeholders is essential to support the success of the business. Key Competencies Strong sense of ownership, integrity, and accountability Self-motivated to upskill and add value to the business Dynamic problem-solving with strong analytical and judgment skills Resilient under pressure and in fast-paced environments Commercial acumen Strong written and verbal communication skills Action-oriented and conscientious High ethical standards Excellent relationship building and networking skills Strong negotiation and sourcing skills Ability to analyse stock reports and forecast re-order needs Exceptional organisational, administrative, and attention-to-detail skills Minimum Requirements Mandatory : CIPS Diploma (or equivalent) Mandatory : Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role Mandatory : Advanced Microsoft Excel skills Advantageous : Previous experience in the telecommunications industry Key Responsibilities Achieve cost containment and optimisation through strategic sourcing and supply chain management Ensure purchasing compliance with internal policies and governance frameworks Manage business and financial risk by maintaining strong service provider contract relationships Use accredited vendors that meet group quality standards Implement appropriate costing models through effective supply chain strategies Ensure capital item procurement aligns with company governance protocols Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Prioritise internal procurement before external sourcing to reduce unnecessary spend Ensure stakeholder satisfaction through quality, timely delivery, and cost-effective purchasing Maintain zero stock-outs of critical inventory by aligning forecasts with business needs Track and demonstrate continuous cost-saving initiatives throughout the fiscal year Ensure all procurement follows internal processes and is supported by appropriate authorisation
