General Supervisor – Terminal Operations - Maritime

Duties & Responsibilities Supervise all operational activities during the shift, including vessel loading/unloading and yard movements Allocate berthing positions in collaboration with yard planners and oversee safe docking procedures Direct and coordinate a team of up to 100 workers, including shift supervisors, foremen, operators, and dockers Monitor and optimise the use of equipment and labour to ensure timely and safe execution of cargo handling Manage delivery operations and warehouse coordination Conduct regular checks on work quality, safety, and compliance with standard operating procedures Liaise with key stakeholders such as shipping agents, consignees, surveyors, port authorities, and service providers Identify bottlenecks and propose improvements as part of a lean and continuous improvement mindset Perform limited administrative tasks including reviewing packing lists, stowage plans, and documentation control Experience and Qualifications Minimum of 6 years experience in maritime, port, or terminal operations Proven supervisory or team leadership experience in high-volume operational settings Solid exposure to breakbulk, RoRo (roll-on/roll-off), and project cargo environments Ability to work outdoors and lead hands-on operations over extended periods Strong communication and problem-solving abilities Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with Terminal Operating Systems (Navis, MTN, EXB) is an advantage Fluent in English (minimum B2 level); Arabic is a plus Bachelors degree or equivalent relevant qualification preferred Salary 5,000 6,000 per month (netto), inclusive of shift allowance (paid 12 times per year) Performance-based bonus up to 1 months salary, linked to operational results and attendance
