Junior Knitwear Designer

The resource will support the Design team in all activities related to Knitwear for Women’s, Men’s, and Accessory collections. The position encompasses all knitwear activities from material development to the delivery of sales campaigns and season archiving. Job Responsibilities Research Collaborate in material research: fibers, yarns, colors with internal and external manufacturers in close collaboration with the Knit Material team; Contribute to technical research: stitches, techniques, patterns, embellishments with internal and external suppliers in daily collaboration with the Knitwear Product and Technical teams; Participate in collective iconographic, vintage, and product research to develop collection concepts aligned with company directions. Presentations Contribute to all team communication tools: boards, digital files, InDesign, PPT documents; Assist in organizing and setting up all Knitwear meetings and presentations in collaboration with Coordination Teams and relevant departments; Attend studio photo-shoots to support Design, Merchandising, and Visual Teams. Design Creation Participate in bi-annual design hand-sketch developments with the Knit Design Team; Collaborate on pattern and texture designs (e.g., jacquards, intarsia, stripes, embroideries) using hand machines or digital tools for factory transfer; Contribute to digital sketches of all knitwear collections for sale campaigns; Support collection development within the company's time frame through daily collaboration with the Knitwear Product, Technical, and Material teams; Prepare technical specifications for each style to clearly convey design directions and requirements; Attend fittings with Design and Product Teams during proto, edit, and sample phases; Update team communication tools daily to track collection progress; Participate in weekly updates with Knit Teams; Contribute to seasonal archival work. Profile Master’s degree in Knitwear Design, focused on Women’s and/or Men’s collections. At least 2-3 years of experience as a Knitwear Designer in a fashion house. High sensitivity and curiosity for Loro Piana products and materials. Strong team player with excellent organizational skills and an open-minded attitude. Interest in learning methods, techniques, and design areas; adaptable to new contexts. Fluent in Italian (spoken and written); English is a plus. Proficiency in Adobe Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint).
