Job Description
This role is pivotal in delivering high-quality IT services, including cloud migrations, network infrastructure management, and on-premises and cloud-based solutions. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in IT systems, networking, and technical support, with a passion for solving complex challenges and ensuring client satisfaction. Key Responsibilities Cloud Implementation and Migration: Migrate file servers to SharePoint and OneDrive for Business, ensuring seamless data transitions. Deploy and configure Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD) and Intune for secure identity and device management. Implement and manage Microsoft 365 environments, optimizing user productivity and collaboration. Migrate workloads to Microsoft Azure Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), ensuring scalability and performance. Server and Infrastructure Management: Install, configure, and upgrade Windows servers, including roles like DNS, DHCP, and Active Directory replication. Deploy and maintain Hyper-V host servers for virtualized environments. Perform virtual-to-virtual (V2V) and physical-to-virtual (P2V) server migrations. Implement and monitor backup solutions to ensure data integrity and disaster recovery. Network and Security: Install, configure, and upgrade network devices, including firewalls, routers, switches, and wireless access points (WAPs). Deploy and maintain VoIP phone systems, ensuring reliable communication for clients. Implement security solutions, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and endpoint protection. Technical Support and Automation: Provide advanced troubleshooting for computers, servers, networks, and cloud systems. Perform PC deployments and automate processes to enhance efficiency. Install and configure access control systems and CCTV for client facilities. Documentation and Client Interaction: Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of configurations, processes, and client environments. Communicate technical information clearly to non-technical stakeholders, ensuring client satisfaction. Requirements Experience: Minimum of 5 years of recent experience in computer, server, network, and cloud troubleshooting. Proven expertise in implementing and managing on-premises and cloud infrastructure solutions. Certifications (one or more of the following): Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate. Microsoft Certified: Microsoft 365 Enterprise Administrator Expert. CompTIA Network or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA). Other relevant certifications in cloud, networking, or security. Technical Skills: Advanced knowledge of Windows Server operating systems and roles (DNS, DHCP, Active Directory). Expertise in Microsoft 365, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Azure services. Proficiency in Hyper-V virtualization and server migration techniques (V2V, P2V). Strong understanding of networking protocols, firewalls, routers, switches, and VoIP systems. Familiarity with Microsoft SQL, Exchange, and SharePoint server applications. Experience with access control, CCTV systems, and network cabling. Soft Skills: Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify technical concepts for non-technical audiences. Professional customer service skills and a client-focused mindset. Ability to work independently and take initiative in a fast-paced environment. Other Requirements: Valid drivers license and own reliable transport (required for client site visits). Willingness to provide 24x7x365 support as part of a rotating on-call schedule. Ability to travel up to 60% of the time, primarily within Gauteng, with occasional national travel.
