Patient Population : Adults to geriatrics. Certifications Needed : BLS, ACLS. Overflow Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU). Expertise in arrhythmia management, cardioversion, cardiac conditions (CHF, chest pain), renal issues, pulmonary conditions (COPD, pulmonary edema, PE, DVT), and stable cardiac arrhythmias (A-Fib, SVT, bradycardia). Surgical experience: cholecystectomy, appendectomy, chest tubes, biliary drains. Occasional cases: vascular patients, post-cardiac catheterization, TR Bands, DKA; rare ortho or CVA overflow (transferred to appropriate unit promptly). Required skills: cardiac drips (amiodarone, cardizem, dobutamine, dopamine, nitroglycerin, milrinone, heparin, argatroban, aggrastat, bumex, lasix), hemodynamic monitoring, post-PCI care, and comprehensive Med/Surg competencies. Must have basic arrhythmia and cardiac drip knowledge. Nurse-to-Patient Ratio : 1:5-6; 32-bed unit. Unit Systems : Epic (preferred), Pyxis, SBAR. Scrub Color : Navy blue. Requested Time Off (RTO) : Maximum 7 days. Weekend Schedule : Every other weekend. Floating : Required within the facility. Call Requirements : Rare; 2-hour response time. Precedex management is typically for core staff, not travelers. Work one major holiday if it falls during the assignment. Work both holidays if two fall during the assignment. Work two of three holidays if three fall during the assignment. Compliance : Full compliance required to start on time; non-compliance delays start by 2 weeks due to bi-weekly orientation.
