Travel Sterile Processing Tech - $1,700 to $1,800 per week in Eureka, CA

Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) – Surgical Services Location: Eureka, CA Contract | 13 Weeks | Day Shifts (5x8-Hour) Responsibilities: Perform decontamination, cleaning, assembly, and sterilization of surgical instruments and equipment. Operate automated equipment including washers, ultrasonic cleaners, and sterilizers (Steam, Sterrad, Steris). Process specialty instruments for various surgical areas including ortho, neuro/spine, vascular, ENT, OB/GYN, urology, and robotics. Conduct flexible endoscope reprocessing (preferred scopes include EGD, colonoscopes, bronchoscopes, ERCP). Maintain proper documentation in Sterile Processing Microsystem (SPM) and ensure compliance with hospital protocols. Collaborate with surgical team members to prepare case carts and manage instrument inventory. Participate in on-call rotation (1 night per week, 1 weekend per month). Float between like units and potentially to nearby affiliated facilities as needed. Requirements: Minimum 1 year of Sterile Processing experience required. Experience with SPM and EPIC charting systems preferred. Strong knowledge of sterilization procedures, infection control, and high-level disinfection techniques. Flexible scope reprocessing experience preferred. Willingness to float and cover weekends/on-call as required. Must have active California certification or license in hand at time of submission . Compliance with facility-specific onboarding, including submission of references and certifications.
