Assistant Superintendent of Construction

Job Description Job Description A fast-paced Construction Management Company is seeking an Assistant Superintendent of Construction to support the management of commercial construction projects, including fast-food restaurant renovations and retail fit-outs. This role involves overseeing high-speed, extreme renovations for Quick Service Restaurants and other light commercial projects. This is a full-time position with competitive salary, benefits, and travel reimbursement. The Assistant Superintendent will assist in supervising field construction, including organization, planning, scheduling, and coordinating work to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. The role also includes performing punch list tasks, small repairs, and supervising similar work. Requirements: Trade and/or commercial experience preferred. Strong computer skills. Duties Include, but are not limited to: Overseeing onsite subcontractors and maintaining daily communication. Assisting the Site Superintendent and Project Manager in maintaining project schedules. Coordinating equipment and material deliveries to the job site. Meeting with owners, inspectors, and professionals as required. Keeping detailed records of project progress, delays, and correspondence with subcontractors and the owner. Maintaining job site cleanliness and ensuring a safe workplace. Obtaining materials or supplies as needed to minimize downtime. Reading and interpreting blueprints and learning construction fundamentals, including building layout, concrete installation, general building construction, and knowledge of mechanical, plumbing, and electrical installations. Working with state and local inspectors to ensure work complies with permit drawings. Qualifications: At least 1 year of experience in commercial construction. Ability to travel to job sites throughout the 5 boroughs of NYC. Previous experience in construction trades preferred. Exposure to Quick Service Restaurant or other light commercial/retail construction projects is a plus. Job Type: Full-time Salary Range: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour, depending on experience.
