Forklift Operator - First Shift

* Forklift Operator – 1st Shift * Location: Plainfield, IN Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM Overtime: Required as needed – includes early weekday starts (5:00 AM) and Saturday shifts (4–8 hours) Pay Rate: $17.50/hour Safety shoes required Position Summary: We are seeking a reliable and experienced * Forklift Operator * to join our team on * 1st shift * . This role is essential to warehouse operations, focusing on safe and efficient movement of materials using multiple types of powered industrial equipment. Ideal candidates will have * strong counterbalance forklift experience * , with additional experience in high reach and double pallet jacks being a plus. Key Responsibilities: * Operate forklifts and other MHE (Material Handling Equipment) including: * Counterbalance (preferred) * High Reach * Double Pallet Jack * Move materials, parts, and finished products within the facility * Maintain records of material movement * Adhere to SOPs, quality, and safety guidelines * Support general warehouse functions including inventory and logistics * Follow instructions from supervisors and maintain communication with team Qualifications: * * High School Diploma or GED preferred * , but not required * * 1 year of recent relevant forklift/MHE experience required * (in lieu of HS Diploma/GED) * Familiarity with multiple types of MHE including: * Order Pickers * Reach Trucks * Counterbalance (slip and clamp) * Dock Stockers * Ability to work in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment * Basic computer, math, reading, and documentation skills * Effective verbal communication in English Work Environment & Physical Demands: * Ability to lift/move * 50 lbs * and perform physically demanding tasks * Exposure to: * Moderate to loud noise levels * Temperature extremes (hot in summer, cold in winter) * Moving mechanical parts and occasional airborne particles * Frequent bending, climbing, standing, reaching, grasping, and repetitive hand motions If you are interested, please reach out to Chin Yang at A-Line Staffing . 586-323-4194 | cyang@alinestaffing.com * Load from trucks using forklift * Load and unload trucks using a forklift * Unload product into/from trucks using forklift/pallet jack * Complete inhouse forklift training class and the forklift evaluation before operating a forklift * Unload trucks using forklift and other equipment * Unload materials using a forklift * Operate forklift truck using safe operating procedures * Perform forklift preventative maintenance checks and attend forklift safety meetings * Completed before operating a forklift * Operate forklift to load/unload route trucks and inter-branch trailers * Utilize a forklift to load and unload storage containers from delivery trucks * Operate a sit-down/propane powered forklift or pallet jack * Assist with ensuring a safe and clean working environment, inside and out, for assigned storage center location * Utilizing a forklift to load and unload storage containers * Operate a sit-down or stand-up forklift * Unload products using forklift trucks and other material handling equipment * Maintain and operate transport equipment (forklift, lift trucks, tow trucks) * Operate forklift using forklift safety procedures and perform daily shift forklift checks * Maintain inventory accuracy by ensuring proper counts and documentation * Unload products from trailers using forklift trucks and other material handling equipment
