Nursery Room Leader | South London | Full Time | 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, shift pattern between 7:30 am and 6:30 pm, with the option to work 4 condensed days | £32,000 per annum Wimbledon Day Nursery is dedicated to providing the highest level of care and education for every child who comes through our door. With a highly qualified team of staff and a management team who together have over twenty years of childcare knowledge, we have managed to create a home away from home experience for your pride and joy We're looking for a fun-loving, hard-working, dedicated Nursery Room Leader who wants to join our outstanding nursery. We currently have openings across all age groups and are excited to welcome the right candidates to join our team. Are you the right person for the job? Level 3 childcare certificate (or equivalent) DBS enhanced clearance Good level of English language (both written and verbal) Previous Room Leader experience would be beneficial First Aid certification (required or willingness to obtain) Must be able to reliably commute to South London or plan to relocate before starting work What will your role look like? Build strong relationships with parents and other staff members Plan and implement the daily routine in the room Attend monthly staff meetings Be aware of nursery standards and policies, and make sure they are being met at all times Be a key worker for up to 6 children and take responsibility for their records, learning and general care Support, mentor, motivate and supervise room staff in their day-to-day duties and monitor their paperwork, including planning, observations, assessments and learning journeys regularly To work with the EYFS Curriculum and plan exciting age-appropriate activities for children Being responsible for maintaining a safe and welcoming environment in the room Building positive, trusting and successful relationships with parents, colleagues and children Attending nursery events – parent consultations, open days, sports days, summer fairs, etc Good knowledge and compliance with Health and Safety, Safeguarding, EYFS and Ofsted regulations Be willing to be part of the leadership team for continuous progression within the company Provide high standards of quality within the nursery, including the environment, resources and experiences offered to children Remain up to date with current developments in childcare and education policies and practices What can you expect in return?
