Job Description : Full job description Job Description We are seeking a Senior Manager to support the International Trade Compliance team. Responsibilities include conducting audits, assessments, and reviews of business practices to ensure compliance with export/import regulations and Security Agreements. This role involves investigating compliance issues, preparing disclosures, and supporting internal investigations. The ideal candidate will have trade compliance expertise, understanding of business support functions, excellent research, writing, and communication skills, and the ability to work independently and in teams. Expertise in EU/US/MEEA export/import laws, including ITAR and EAR, is essential. This position reports to the Head of Supply Chain and I&E Trade Compliance Office at Hitachi Rail in Italy (Piossasco, Genova, or Naples). Hybrid and remote work options are available. In this role, you will : Review agreements such as Technical Assistance and Manufacturing Licenses. Assess export/import licenses and permits from relevant authorities. Ensure compliance with Customs and ATF requirements and AES filings. Evaluate export classifications, exemptions, and license use. Maintain proper record-keeping and data management. Oversee compliance in documentation, international orders, shipments, and travel. Develop analysis, conduct interviews, draft reports, and research regulations. Assist in investigations and disclosures, including developing analyses and correspondence. Support compliance tasks, data collection, reporting, record management, process development, and training. Act as an empowered official, ensuring adherence to US export/import laws. Perform additional duties as assigned. Required Education, Experience & Skills Bachelor's Degree and 10 years of experience. Experience as an Empowered Official in the defense industry. Proficiency with OCR EMS export management software. Proactive, organized, team-oriented, and able to handle shifting priorities. Effective communicator, both orally and in writing, at all organizational levels. Sound judgment in decision-making, policy adherence, and legal compliance. Ability to analyze, develop, and implement processes within budget and schedule. Discretion and independent judgment in duties. Experience working in a matrixed environment.
