Manual Tester

Position : Manual Tester Job Description : As a Manual Tester at Stalwart Innovations, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and usability of our software applications. You will be responsible for meticulously executing test cases, identifying defects, and working closely with development teams to ensure that our products meet the highest standards before release. Key Responsibilities : - Analyze business requirements, functional specifications, and design documents to create comprehensive and effective test cases. - Execute manual test cases thoroughly across various platforms, browsers, and devices. - Perform different types of testing including Functional, Regression, Integration, System, Usability, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT). - Accurately identify, document, prioritize, and track software defects using a bug tracking system (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps). - Work closely with developers to ensure defects are understood, reproduced, and resolved in a timely manner. - Verify bug fixes and ensure proper regression testing is performed. - Participate in requirement reviews to provide feedback on testability and clarity of specifications. - Contribute to the improvement of testing processes, methodologies, and tools. - Ensure all testing activities are performed according to defined quality standards and project schedules. - Maintain clear and concise test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test reports. - Communicate test results, progress, and risks to project stakeholders effectively. - Collaborate effectively with developers, business analysts, product owners, and other QA team members. Required Skills & Qualifications : Experience : 3 to 4 years of hands-on experience in manual software testing. Testing Fundamentals : - Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC). - Solid knowledge of various testing methodologies (e.g., Waterfall, Agile/Scrum). - Ability to create clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases. Web & Mobile Testing : - Experience in testing web-based applications (cross-browser compatibility). - Familiarity with mobile application testing (iOS and Android) is a plus. Defect Tracking Tools : - Proficiency with at least one industry-standard defect tracking system (e.g., Jira, Bugzilla, Azure DevOps). Test Management Tools : - Experience with test case management tools (e.g., TestLink, Zephyr, qTest). Database Knowledge : - Basic SQL knowledge for backend data validation. Browser Developer Tools : - Familiarity with browser developer tools for debugging frontend issues. Problem-Solving : - Exceptional analytical skills and a keen eye for detail to identify inconsistencies and defects. - Strong logical reasoning and troubleshooting abilities. Communication : - Excellent written and verbal communication skills to articulate defects and test results clearly. Team Player : - Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team. Education : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Preferred Qualifications : - ISTQB Foundation Level certification. - Experience with API testing using tools like Postman or Swagger. - Basic understanding of performance and security testing concepts. - Familiarity with automation testing concepts (though this is a manual testing role).
