Job Description

Oversight of the centralised procurement of essential medicines and surgical supplies under the guidance of the Head of Pharmaceutical Services . To contribute to the strategic planning and procurement process by establishing both short and long-term goals for the Groups Pharmaceutical Services. Skill in price reviews and price negotiations will be an advantage. Devising fruitful procurement and sourcing strategies and initiating procurement partnerships. Minimum Qualifications and Experience: Pharm degree. Current Registration with the South African Pharmacy Council as a Pharmacist. 7 years experience as a pharmacist of which three (3) years must be in pharmaceutical procurement. A broad experience in pharmaceutical systems (Dispensing systems, procurement systems and inventory management systems. Understanding of Project Management, Supply Chain Management, Forecasting and Demand Planning. Ability to engage Suppliers for price negotiations. Data collection and analysis / Trend analysis. Minimum Job Requirements: Coordination of the development and maintenance of the Clinix Health Group (CHG) medicine and surgical supplies formulary. Participation in price review meetings and price negotiations with suppliers. Development / design and maintenance of a credible pharmaceutical supplier database. Development of Standard Operating Procedures to guide the pharmaceutical centralised procurement process as well as inventory management processes. Staff training on implementation of and adherence to Standard Operating Procedures. Oversight and Improvement of Internal and external Material Replenishment Planning (MRP) Development of management reports in pharmaceutical procurement and inventory management for strategic reviews and decision making. Analysis of the pharmaceutical compliance report Approval of the ordering of required essential medicines and surgical supplies. Review of existing agreements with suppliers. Controlling of spend and building of a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs. Leadership Skills/Abilities: Problem Solving, decision making, success oriented and lead by example. Excellent people skills, business acumen and exemplary work ethics. Organizational and leadership abilities, good interpersonal skills. Ability to anticipate, challenge, interpret data and make decisions based on these skills. Professionalism, work with integrity and actively promote ethics and compliance policies across the organization.
