Job Description
Responsibilities : Lead and Scale Engineering Teams : - Manage a 75 member engineering organization across Backend, Frontend, Android, QA, and DevOps. - Build high-performing crossfunctional squads to drive product delivery across core consumer experiences, supply chain systems, and pharmacy compliance platforms. Design Systems for Healthcare Scale : - Architect robust, event-driven systems capable of supporting 10x growth in order volumes, prescription uploads, and real-time inventory queries. - Ensure low-latency performance for high-traffic product, cart, and checkout APIs even during peak medical demand. Drive Innovation and Technical Foresight : - Stay ahead of emerging technologies and introduce tools and architectures that directly impact business outcomes. - Champion the adoption of AI/ML models for critical use cases like medicine substitution, leveraging algorithms to suggest accurate and cost-effective alternatives based on salt composition, prescription history, and availability. - Drive innovation in areas like personalized medicine recommendations, OCR-based prescription parsing, and predictive inventory planning. - Enable a culture of experimentation by supporting internal POCs, tech spikes, and cross functional innovation sprints that continuously improve product, operations, and user Healthcare Roadmaps into Scalable Tech : - Work closely with Co-founders, CXOs, and VPs to translate domain-specific needs from Product, Strategy, Marketing & Opertaions into scalable software platforms. - Deliver solutions that enhance the customer experience while ensuring regulatory B2C Reliability at Scale : - Build and maintain platforms that serve millions of monthly active users with 99.9% uptime. - Drive platform stability by implementing observability, proactive alerting, and graceful degradation patterns across critical Engineering Velocity and Quality : - Drive engineering speed by optimizing current agile processes, sprint rituals (planning, retros, demos), and outcome-driven tracking using JIRA and OKRs. - Standardize code review workflows, enforce quality gates via GitHub Actions or GitLab CI, and introduce automated testing suites to reduce manual QA cycles. - Set up DORA metric dashboards (deployment frequency, lead time, MTTR) using tools like Datadog, Grafana, or Buildkite. - Optimize team structures (e.g., cross-functional pods, platform vs feature teams) to improve ownership and reduce handoffs. \ - Align release cadences with pharmacy and inventory cycles while ensuring reliability through blue-green deployments, feature flags, and canary rollouts. Mentor Engineering Leaders : - Coach, and develop internal Engineering Managers and Staff Engineers. Drive a culture of ownership, innovation, and performance. - Create engineering ladders and career paths to scale team maturity in sync with business growth. Qualifications : - Experience : 12 years in technology, with 4 years in engineering leadership roles across B2C and platform-heavy organizations. - Team Leadership : Successfully led and scaled 50 member orgs across Backend, Frontend, Android, QA, and DevOps. Built high-performing, cross-functional teams and second-line leaders. - System Design & Technical Vision : Deep experience in architecting distributed systems using Golang, Java, Kafka, and Spring Boot. Strong knowledge of React, TypeScript, Next.js, Android architecture, QA automation frameworks, and cloud-native DevOps on AWS, GCP or Azure. - Domain Exposure : Prior experience building and scaling B2C systems in e-commerce or healthcare, with a strong focus on reliability, compliance, and operational scale. - Execution & Delivery : Proven ability to translate business goals into scalable tech platforms. Strong execution muscle using agile processes, CI/CD pipelines, and data-backed decision making. - Mentorship & Talent Development : Built org structures, career ladders, and leadership coaching programs to grow engineering maturity in fast-scaling environments. - Strategic Thinking : Strong business and product orientation; capable of aligning engineering decisions with growth, customer needs, and competitive advantage. - Communication : Clear, structured communicator able to influence across Co-founders, CXOs, and VPs.
