Stores Person / Tractor Driver PAY Rate: £13.91 per hour Location: Belfast Zoo Key Skills & Experience Tractor & Mobile Plant Operation Experienced in operating tractors (e.g., John Deere 5820) with trailers, including coupling/uncoupling and hill starts. Manual Handling & Grounds Work Competent in laboring duties, mowing, sweeping, litter clearance, and maintaining the overall tidiness of zoo grounds and associated areas. Stores & Stock Control Proven ability to manage stores, receive and handle stock items, replenish supplies, and maintain inventory records. Animal Support Assisted zoo staff with basic animal husbandry including food transport, medication support, tagging, and ensuring compound security. Vehicle Maintenance Performed daily checks on tractors and associated equipment (oil, tyres, water, etc.) and maintained accurate inspection records. Chemical & Waste Handling Responsible for safe handling and transportation of animal by-products, quarantine waste, and chemicals in line with regulations. Certificates & Licences Full UK Driving Licence (Categories C1E and F) CPC Qualification (or willingness to complete within 12 months) Successful completion of tractor driving assessment (John Deere 5820) Core Attributes Effective verbal and listening communication Accurate completion of forms and paperwork Knowledge of workplace health & safety legislation Able to work independently and as part of a team Customer service awareness and professionalism in public-facing roles Northern Irelandsfirstrecruitment agency accredited by the Living Wage Foundation.
