Job Description

Key Performance Areas Conduct inspections of all equipment serviced and repaired by field technicians. Identify billable work during inspections. Evaluate and verify the quality of workmanship on repairs and services. Perform End of Term (EOT) inspections at customer sites. Ensure all long- and short-term rental equipment holds valid load test certification. Investigate and report on re-work cases. Identify and mitigate potential risk areas. Assist in reducing maintenance costs for both long- and short-term rental units. Conduct final checks on Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) and rebuilt units prior to customer delivery. Foster strong customer relationships and uphold high standards of service delivery. Hold regular feedback sessions and meetings with management and relevant departments. Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and governance practices within the area of responsibility. Support and drive continuous improvement and operational innovation initiatives. Minimum Requirements Education, Skills, and Experience Grade 12 / Matric or equivalent. Minimum 5 years relevant experience in the material handling or forklift industry. Qualified diesel/petrol or forklift mechanic. Strong computer literacy, with advanced knowledge of MS Outlook, Word, and Excel. Familiarity with compiling and analyzing reports based on multiple data sources. Strong numerical and financial acumen. Proactive with strong prioritization and multitasking skills; ability to manage tasks from initiation to completion. Strong administrative and organizational capabilities, with excellent attention to detail and a results-oriented approach. Ability to analyze and solve problems systematically and make well-informed decisions under pressure. Ability to interpret technical documentation and apply it in practice. Committed to continual learning and adapting to new technologies and equipment. Comfortable with safety protocols and capable of following health and safety regulations effectively. Knowledge Requirements Customer Service : Understanding of customer service processes including needs analysis, quality standards, and satisfaction evaluation. Language Proficiency : Strong command of English (spoken and written), including grammar, spelling, and composition. Computer Skills : Proficient in common office applications, especially Microsoft Office Suite. Work Activities Information Gathering : Collecting and reviewing relevant data from various sources. Physical Handling : Handling, moving, and positioning equipment and tools as needed. Documentation : Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records, both digital and paper-based. External Communication : Interacting with customers, suppliers, and external partners via multiple channels. Internal Communication : Collaborating with management and peers to relay and receive critical information. Information Processing : Analyzing, coding, and verifying data as part of operational reporting. Planning and Organization : Setting priorities and organizing tasks to meet goals and deadlines. Monitoring : Continuously reviewing equipment, processes, and environments for issues or potential risks. General Competencies Demonstrates a high level of integrity, responsibility, and a strong work ethic. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally across all levels. Able to manage own workload independently with minimal supervision. Thrives under pressure and remains calm and focused in challenging situations. Shows initiative, enthusiasm, and a willingness to take ownership of tasks. Physically fit, of sober habits, and in good general health. Required Licences & Certifications Valid trade test certificate (Forklift Mechanic or equivalent). Valid forklift operator license. Valid Code EB / Code 8 drivers license
