Diesel Mechanic

Requirements 2 5 years of experience with diesel engines and generator systems Matric or equivalent qualification Learnership or Trade Qualification advantageous Experience with Diesel Engines and Generators Valid drivers license Strong understanding of engine components, fuel systems, and electrical systems Skilled with diagnostic tools and repair equipment Duties Install, maintain and repair diesel-powered generators and engines Perform preventive maintenance and regular inspections on generators and diesel engines Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and fuel system issues Repair or replace defective parts in engines and generators using appropriate tools and diagnostic equipment Rebuild engines and major components as necessary Perform load testing and monitor generator output Maintain service logs, repair records and parts inventory Ensure all repairs and maintenance comply with safety and environmental standards Communicate with clients or supervisors to coordinate service schedules and report issues Respond to emergency breakdowns and power outages when on-call Keep the work area clean, organized and safe
