The vacancy is posted on-line from Monday May 19 to June 22 at 11:50pmABOUT THE POSITIONS AND THE PSYCHOLOGY PROGRAM AT NORMANDALENormandale Community College is seeking an Adjunct Instructor to join the Psychology Department. The members of the Psychology Department are committed to providing a solid foundation in psychology to students of all backgrounds. We believe in supporting a quality education experience that provides learning opportunities for our diverse student body. Example courses include Introduction to Human Development, Psychology of Gender, and Psychology of Personality. Those hired into these positions will be expected to advance this goal through culturally responsive teaching, identifying barriers to success for students of color, and proposing effective solutions to eliminate those barriers.Minimum QualificationsMaster's degree with a major in psychology orMaster's degree with a minimum of 18 graduate semester credits (27 graduate quarter credits) in psychology.Preferred Qualifications Coursework beyond the Master’s degreePost-secondary teaching experienceExperience serving diverse and underserved populationsAn understanding of the community college mission and its unique populationExperience in online learning and/or course delivery using web-based course management systems such as D2LExperience in using innovative teaching and learning approachesExperience providing specific strategies to create a sense of belonging within the classroomExperience teaching courses with innovative teaching practices to support the success and retention of underrepresented students, including students of color, first-generation students, and Pell eligible studentsEvidence of continuous professional development related to diversity, equity, and inclusionDemonstrated commitment to collegial activities - service on committees, developing assessment, and guiding studentsTo be qualified for this position, you must meet all of the minimum qualifications.
