About Us : We are a multidisciplinary allied health clinic providing speech therapy, occupational therapy, play therapy, and psychology services. We predominately serve paediatric clients, but also provide services to teenagers and adults in the community, depending on their needs. About You : Bachelor of Occupational Therapy or equivalent Hold AHPRA registration in Australia Working with Children Check Current Drivers License and own transport Position Summary : As the Occupational Therapist you are responsible for providing early intensive therapy as well as occupational therapy services and other developmental or learning needs to clients and support their families. You will support children aged 2-17 to achieve their goals. This role is also responsible for supporting continuous improvement in the business performance and effectively contribute towards the achievement of the practice's vision and purpose. Demonstrated experience or exposure as a speech pathologist, including the management of children and adolescents in terms of assessment and treatment. Interest in developing knowledge regarding the assessment and management of bilingual individuals. Effective oral and written communication skills, along with strong interpersonal, organisational and time management skills. Proven ability to function as a multidisciplinary team member and be committed to delivering high quality outcomes for children and families. Desirable: Experience working culturally and linguistically diverse communities Experience working with children Experience with providing group programs for children and their families Experience in the provision of health promotion/community education activities Be fluent in English and able to converse in Cantonese and Mandarin Current driver’s license and access to a vehicle which on occasion may be required for work purposes to conduct off site visits. Specific skills required in management of fine motor development, sensory processing, visual perception and motor planning skills Demonstrated time management and organisational skills and the ability to coordinate an assigned caseload Demonstrated effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills Demonstrated ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary team and provide patient-centred practice Punctual, reliable and committed Clear, personable and professional communication, both written and spoken Exceptional attention to detail Professional communication style to all internal and external stakeholders Good computer skills required for the company practice management software Ability to work within a team and autonomously Ability to follow direction and take initiative Job Responsibility : Paediatric caseload primarily working with ages 2-17 Meeting with parents or caregivers to conduct initial consultations. Liaising with parents or caregivers to establish child and family-centred goals. Conduct therapy to support children to achieve their goals. Developing resources for therapy and home programs. Liaising with other professionals that are involved in the child’s care. Manageable client-related responsibilities (approximately 70% of your time), with the remainder allocated for administrative duties and continued learning Provide high quality customer service to clients and external stakeholders Respect confidentiality and privacy of practitioners, directors, staff and clients at all times Maintain a cooperative team environment by communicating openly and in a friendly manner, working efficiently and amicably with all members of the clinic Provide occupational therapy to clients within the program models Plan and implement individual and group treatment programs, including therapy assistant programs and multi-disciplinary services Demonstrate a commitment to best practice principles in the delivery of occupational therapy services Administer Occupational Therapy assessments and develop and implement therapy plans for any occupational therapy referrals Monitor, evaluate and review progress and therapy plans Undertake appropriate professional development, including self-reflection Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team to provide family centred therapy programs Liaise with referral sources and other key service providers as required Learn and administer early intervention therapy following the principles Administer occupational therapy assessments, develop and implement therapy plans, under supervision as required Monitor, evaluate and review progress and therapy plans Develop resources to support the programmes Undertake appropriate professional development, including self-reflection Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team to provide holistic therapy programs If required, undertake research into case studies and examples Commitment to meeting client and organisational expectations Adopt and embrace the companies values and philosophy Ensure the environment is kept in a safe and hygienic state at all times Commitment to work as an effective team member Promote the company and it’s interests to the local and wider community Ensure all communication is completed in a professional and polite manner, to all internal and external stakeholders Job Functions : Occupational Therapy Job Benefits : Financial Benefits ● $78,000 - $100,000 including superannuation ● Incentive program (commissions) which can add an average of $3000 to your annual salary ● Company-paid professional indemnity and public liability insurance ● Travel reimbursement $$$ Professional Development and Growth ● Annual PD allowance package of $3000 ● Be supported working amongst a team of Speech Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Play Therapists, and Psychologists. ● Multidisciplinary meetings and opportunities to discuss complex cases and learn ● Routine and regular one-on-one supervision, as well as discipline-specific team meetings focused on ongoing learning and professional development ● A filtered caseload according to your experience, where your clients are approved by your supervisor before they are booked with you ● Structured onboarding program ● Structured graduate program for new graduate therapists ● Report writing and travel are booked into your calendar, and do not take away from your administrative time ● Ongoing opportunities for career progression, professional development, and training Selling Point : Occupational Therapist Contact : Chloe Wong
