Position Overview Our client is growing its Enterprise Data Office and seeking a skilled Data Governance Engineer to help implement a company-wide data governance strategy. This role will focus on treating data as an enterprise asset and ensuring the successful integration and adoption of tools such as Collibra, Informatica MDM/RDM, and Google Cloud data technologies. The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a passion for scalable data practices. Key Responsibilities Design, implement, and support metadata, data quality, and master data management (MDM) solutions. Integrate data governance tools (Collibra, Informatica, Google Cloud) with internal systems, including API development for data access and management. Develop and maintain data models, lineage, and data catalog solutions, contributing to data governance maturity across the organization. Facilitate resolution of data quality issues and contribute to process improvement strategies. Collaborate across teams to prioritize business needs and deliver technical solutions that align with enterprise goals. Support agile delivery teams with story breakdown, sprint planning, and functional delivery. Required Qualifications 5 years of experience across software, data, and infrastructure engineering. Proven experience with data governance tools and frameworks, especially Collibra and Informatica MDM. Strong understanding of data cataloging, stewardship, lineage, and quality rule creation. 3 years working with cloud platforms, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP), as well as AWS or Azure. Proficient in programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript), data modeling, and scripting (e.g., Bash, SQL, PowerShell). Experience with APIs (REST, GraphQL), and working knowledge of ETL processes and data warehouse/lake architecture. Skilled in SQL and capable of troubleshooting at an advanced level. Familiarity with data models such as ODS, relational, and dimensional (fact/dimension). Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage technical and business stakeholders. Experience in Agile environments with the ability to manage multiple priorities. What You Bring A passion for solving data challenges and building scalable, efficient systems.
