Job Description

Are you passionate about making a difference in young people's lives? We're looking for dedicated, empathetic, and inspiring individuals to join our team of Mentors across Fareham and Portsmouth. As a Mentor you will: Build trusting, supportive relationships with assigned students Encourage engagement with school and programme activities Support social-emotional development and well-being Provide consistent, reliable mentorship tailored to individual needs Collaborate with schools and programme staff to monitor progressAbout you: Strong interpersonal and communication skills Empathy, patience, and a non-judgemental attitude Experience working with young people (preferred but not essential) Ability to commit to regular mentoring sessions A genuine desire to make a positive impactPosition - Mentor Contract or position start date - ASAP Contract or position end date (if applicable) - N/A Full time/part-time - Part time-Generally up to 15 hours per week Hours - Monday to Friday Essential & Desirable Qualifications: A background in youth work/ support work is highly desirable Minimum of 1 year of experience working within UK schools- ESSENTIAL Experience working with learners with Special Educational Needs (SEN)/ SEMH needs is highly desirable. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Enthusiasm, compassion and positivity are essential, along with a calm natureTo be eligible for this role through Prospero teaching, you must: Hold right to work in the UK Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application Provide references upon request Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
