Maintenance Fitter/Technician

Job Title: Temporary Mechanical Fitter/Maintenance Technician Location: Sunderland/Durham Duration: 3-6 Months Job Summary: We are working with our client who are a Manufacturer seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Fitter to join their Maintenance team on a temporary basis. This may lead to a permanent role. The successful candidate will be responsible for assembling, installing, and maintaining mechanical systems and machinery. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical components and the ability to work efficiently under minimal supervision. Key Responsibilities: * Assemble and fit mechanical components and systems according to specifications. * Perform routine maintenance and repairs on machinery and equipment. * Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues to ensure optimal performance. * Read and interpret technical drawings and manuals. * Ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety regulations and standards. * Collaborate with other team members to achieve project goals. * Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used. Qualifications: * Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter or similar role. * Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and components. * Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals. * Proficiency in using hand and power tools. * Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team. * Good communication skills. Physical Requirements: * Ability to lift and move heavy objects. * Comfortable working in various environments, including confined spaces and heights. * Ability to stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
