Job Description
In a global transformation context, the Global Trade Services Regional Manager plays a strategic role in managing the local region-specific trade compliance aspects in their assigned region. They are also responsible for maintaining strong business relationships and ensuring global trade compliance with the different operation teams in their region. The main responsibilities of this position are to implement and support the trade compliance guidelines and support the global operation footprint of the region from a trade perspective. This includes implementing the global trade compliance processes, procedures, programs, control points, key performance indicators, internal reviews, and other specific local variances. They will also play a key role within their region to manage the relevant business relations, implement and maintain proper interface relations with government, customs authorities, bolt-on system solution providers, maintain proper contacts and contract with internal and external partners to ensure continuous quality improvement and reduce region overall operational costs. The Regional Trade Services Manager for North America will be supported by the Global Trade Services, Compliance, and Strategy Manager to implement standard processes and improvement. YOU'LL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO: Manage and support all the BRP entities in North America. Manage and control the expenses and costs related to Customs and trade management US and CA. Work closely with the LATAM regional GTS Manager to establish seamless processes and support our manufacturing footprint. Manage-country specific imports, exports, compliance audits, and supply chain security processes execution. Manage the classification team for Manufacturing and Distribution. Identify opportunities for costs reduction or duty saving. Support the Global Trade Services (GTS) structure implementation in your region. Establish, manage and maintain proper business relations with your region business management team, suppliers, solution providers, government and customs authorities. Work with Global Trade Services Compliance and Strategy team to define/modify the region-specific processes variances needed. Implement global trade compliance policies in your region. Support the identification of your region business requirements to maintain trade compliance requirement (current trend monitoring). Capture, consolidate, evaluate, and act on regional key performance indicators. Share your success and failure with the other regional manager to contribute to global trade services and continuous compliance improvement. Monitor your region trade compliance risks and opportunities. Support and manage your local team resources. Influence and train your region business counterpart on trade compliance constraints and opportunities. Support region compliance audits execution (internal and external), act on improvement recommendation. Act as the main trade compliance (technical reference) point of contact for your region support (business and local teams). YOU’LL THRIVE IN THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND QUALITIES: 10 years’ experience in region-specific trade compliance management functions. Accredited Trade Compliance certification is an asset. Licensed custom broker certification an asset. In-depth regulatory knowledge related to the region, including compliance, valuation, Free Trade Agreements (FTA), classification, taxation on import, export, etc. Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Legal or Business). Very good understanding of trade compliance terminology. Experience in project management and change management an asset. Fluent in English and the main regional languages. Open to travel in your region and to other international locations when needed. This job will be located in the Montreal's office but also requires to travel to Valcourt and/or Sherbrooke (from 1 to 2 times per week).
