Ascendion - Senior Data Analyst - SQL/ETL

About the Role : Ascendion is seeking a highly experienced and insightful Senior Data Analyst to join our team. With over 7 years of relevant experience in data analysis, you will be responsible for diving deep into data, identifying trends, extracting meaningful insights, and translating them into actionable recommendations. You will work extensively with data housed in data warehouses, utilize your expertise in SQL, and apply your knowledge of big data ecosystems and ETL processes to support various business initiatives. This role requires strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of data infrastructure, and the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders, with the ability to join us on a short notice Responsibilities : - Conduct in-depth data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights that drive business decisions. - Write complex and efficient SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and analyze data from various sources, particularly within data warehousing environments. - Work extensively with data stored in Data Warehousing solutions. - Apply knowledge of the Big Data Ecosystem to understand data sources, data flow, and potential analytical approaches in large-scale environments. - Utilize understanding of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to comprehend how data is sourced, processed, and stored, enabling effective data analysis. - Create reports, dashboards, and visualizations to present findings and insights clearly and effectively to technical and non-technical audiences. - Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, data scientists, and other teams to understand their data needs and deliver analytical solutions. - Define and implement metrics to measure business performance and track key indicators. - Identify opportunities for data quality improvement and work with data engineering teams to address them. - Troubleshoot data-related issues and ensure the accuracy and reliability of data used for analysis. - Stay updated on industry best practices in data analysis, data warehousing, and big data technologies. - Mentor junior analysts (if applicable). - Work effectively within an Agile Qualifications : - Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related area (or equivalent practical experience). - Minimum of 7 years of overall experience in data analysis or related roles. - Minimum of 7 years of relevant hands-on experience as a Data Skills & Experience : - Strong proficiency in Data Analysis techniques and methodologies. - Extensive experience working with Data Warehousing concepts and environments. - Expert level knowledge and hands-on experience with SQL for complex data querying and analysis. - Good knowledge of the Big Data Ecosystem (concepts, common technologies like Hadoop, Spark, etc., and how data flows within them). - Understanding of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and data pipelines. - Proven ability to translate business questions into analytical problems and deliver data-driven insights. - Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. - Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly. - Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. - Must be available to join with a notice period of Immediate to 20 days (ref:hirist.tech)
