Job Description

Key Responsibilities Lead all phases in delivering a large capability or set of products Tackle hard/complex debugging, triaging, incident response, and reverse-engineering tasks Actively participate in planning, and performing code and architecture reviews of their teams product Ensure the quality and integrity of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) for their team and identify opportunities for improvement in how the team works, through usage of recommended tools and practices. Understand and influence the architecture of multiple systems Remain up-to-date on evolving standards, platform features, and critical vendor and community provided technologies Lead and effectively triage highly complex issues often applying new approaches Own the technical testing and performance of the products or process you support Tackle hard/complex debugging, triaging, incident response, and reverse-engineering tasks. Understand and communicate effectively about the tradeoffs between technical, analytical, and product needs Influence technical peers outside the team Set a consistent example of agile development practices and coach other engineers to work as a team with Product and Experience Design (XD) Create and improve internal libraries and tools Provide technical leadership on the product and determine technical approach Proactively communicate status and issues to their manager Show a commitment to delivery deadlines, in particular seasonal and vendor partner deadlines that are critical to Best Buys continued success Basic Qualifications 10 years of relevant technical professional experience with a bachelors degree OR equivalent professional experience. Including: 3 years of practitioner level knowledge of large-scale data warehouse and BI tools migration to Google Cloud data lake 3 years of experience with cloud computing services (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud) 5 years of hands-on designing data lakes and reviewing code to comply with design 5 years of experience in tuning data model for performance and data quality 5 years of hands-on knowledge on multiple programming languages Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization Proven experience of actively collaborating with business and dependent teams while breaking down complex problems to manageable solves Ability to showcase acquired business acumen Knowledge of data privacy laws and regulations, such as CCPA, HIPAA or other Preferred Qualifications Experience working in an omni-channel retail environment Passion for staying up-to-date with the latest technologies and industry trends. Proactive in learning new skills and sharing knowledge with the team. Ability to balance technicalconsiderations with business requirements.
