Technical Business Analyst - SQL

Role Overview : We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Business Analyst with strong expertise in SQL and a proven track record in analyzing, designing, and implementing technical solutions. As a Technical Business Analyst, you will work closely with business stakeholders, development teams, and data engineers to translate business requirements into technical specifications and drive data-driven decision-making. Your expertise in SQL and analytical skills will be key to developing efficient and scalable solutions for complex business challenges. Key Responsibilities : - Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their requirements, challenges, and goals. - Elicit, document, and analyze business and technical requirements, ensuring clarity and alignment. - Develop functional and technical specifications, detailing data flow, processes, and integration points. - Provide recommendations for optimizing business processes based on system capabilities and data analysis. - Utilize SQL for querying databases to extract and analyze business data, identify trends, and support decision-making. - Work closely with data engineers and developers to ensure data accuracy and integrity. - Design and execute complex SQL queries to analyze large datasets and generate insights. - Provide solutions to improve data extraction, reporting, and analysis processes. - Act as a liaison between business teams and technical teams to ensure clear communication and alignment. - Present findings and data-driven insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. - Assist in preparing reports, dashboards, and other deliverables for key decision-makers. - Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, including process flows, data dictionaries, and system architecture diagrams. - Document current and future-state processes, functional specifications, and system requirements. - Collaborate with developers to design, implement, and test new features or system modifications based on business requirements. - Conduct thorough testing of technical solutions, ensuring they meet business needs and technical specifications. - Participate in the validation of new solutions and ensure smooth system integration and implementation. - Analyze existing processes and systems for areas of improvement and provide recommendations for enhancements. - Work with stakeholders to refine processes, improve system functionality, and streamline workflows. - Assist in managing project timelines, deliverables, and milestones. - Provide regular updates on project status and risk management to senior leadership. Required Skills & Qualifications : - 8 years of experience as a Business Analyst or Technical Business Analyst, working on complex IT projects. - Strong proficiency in SQL (writing complex queries, data manipulation, joins, sub-queries, and aggregations). - In-depth understanding of data analysis, data reporting, and business intelligence concepts. - Experience in working with database systems (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL). - Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions. - Expertise in requirements gathering, functional specifications, and technical documentation. - Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with both business and technical teams. - Proven experience working in Agile or Waterfall project environments.
