Senior Engineer I About this team: Product Integrity, Sustainability & Compliance Technology team enables Lululemon's supply chain from raw materials to finished good production through innovative technology solutions. As an Engineer, you will work as part of a global team supported by our business and architecture partners to help us collaboratively develop and deliver industry leading technology solutions that drive lululemons business goals. Core Responsibilities: As a Senior Engineer I, you will bring a high level of technical knowledge as well as strong mentoring abilities. You will be counted on as a leader in your technology space as you contribute to all areas of development and operations (pre-production to production). You will work closely with a Technology Manager, using your experience and knowledge to guide a team of Engineers though their day-to-day process, and provide a central escalation point for production concerns. You will be part of an Agile production release team and may perform on-call support functions as needed. As a Senior Engineer I, you would be a primary caretaker of production systems and would maintain a deep understanding of how delivered products are functioning. Are a main contributor in Agile ceremonies Provide mentorship and facilitate engineering training for a team of Engineers Designs scalable and highly performant data models for supporting analytical and reporting use cases Designs and develops data pipelines to acquire data from various sources to support analytics and reporting. Develops SQL queries for performing high volume data transformation. Performance tuning of database and SQL queries Works with databases hosted in cloud (e.g. AWS RDS, Snowflake) Ensuresapplications are designed to be highly available, observable, and durable via software engineering best practices. Workswithbusiness and systems analyststo understand end-user requirements andtranslate those into pragmatic and effective technical solutions. Works with the team of engineers to ensure deliverables are well-documented, secure and resilient. Provides DevOps thought leadership in delivery contexts, focusing on the requirements of lululemon's end-users and how they are best served by continuous improvements to our delivery approach. Collaborates with the global engineering teams to deliver on integration projects. Engages in ongoing quality and performance improvement to ensure reliability andsecurity. Designs for release and configuration management. Assists in troubleshooting and resolvingproduction system issues. Qualifications: Completed Bachelors degree or diploma (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Software Engineering or Software Architecture preferred; candidates with substantial and relevant industry experience are also eligible 10 to 12 years of engineering experience Ability to learn, understand, and work quickly with new emerging technologies, methodologies, and solutions in the Cloud/IT technology space Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake), ETL, and SQL optimization for large-scale data transformations. Fluency with relational databases/no SQL DB especially PostgreSQL, Mongo DB Experience in Snowflake - data modelling, ETL using Snowflake SQL, deploying Snowflake features such as data sharing. Hands-on experience with Snowflake utilities, SnowSQL, SnowPipe. Working experience of Snowflake advanced concepts like setting up resource monitors, RBAC controls, virtual warehouse sizing, query performance tuning, Zero copy clone, time travel would be preferred. Experience in other programming languages like JavaScript/TypeScript or Python is an asset Experience in Data Migration from RDBMS to Snowflake cloud data warehouse. Excellent team player, ability to work independently and as part of a team Experience in mentoring junior developers and providing technical leadership Excellent pull request review skills and attention to detail Industry experience in Retail domain is a plus Experience working with job schedulers like Airflow Experience with AWS cloud and implementations from a developers perspective Experience working with containers, Docker, Kubernetes, or other container schedulers Familiarity with telemetry platforms like Splunk, Prometheus and Grafana. Familiarity with applications and RESTful APIs defined using Java, Spring Boot and Spring Cloud Familiarity with streaming platforms (real-time data at massive scale like Confluent Kafka). Familiar with the project tools: Jira, Confluence, MS Office, SharePoint. Good knowledge and working experience in Agile methodology and familiar with tools like Jira and Confluence
