Job Description

We are currently seeking a Long Term Care Pharmacist for a growing, closed-door pharmacy that is committed to delivering high-quality pharmaceutical care to long-term care facilities. As we expand, we are seeking a dedicated and professional Pharmacist to join our team and contribute to the success of our mission. Title: Pharmacist Hours: Rotating Schedule (Morning, Mid, Evenings rotating weekends) - cycling shifts between 7:30am - 8pm. Pay: $57/hour Location: West Chester, Ohio Responsibilities: Prescription Review & Accuracy: Review prescriptions issued by physicians or authorized prescribers to ensure accuracy, determine required formulas and ingredients. Medication Compounding: Compound both sterile and non-sterile medications by following standard formulas and processes, including weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients. Team Leadership: Oversee pharmacy employees involved in mixing, packaging, labeling, and prescription order changes to ensure efficiency and accuracy. Prescription Fulfillment: Ensure the timely and efficient intake and fulfillment of prescription orders. Medication Counseling: Provide support and counsel to nursing facility staff regarding prescription and over-the-counter medications, as well as medication therapy. Health Education: Offer advice to nursing staff on health topics like diet, exercise, stress management, and provide information on healthcare products. Inventory & Record Management: Establish and maintain proper storage and record-keeping systems for medicines and pharmaceuticals. Customer Service: Foster open communication with internal and external customers, enhancing cooperation and improving pharmacy service. Accountability: Take ownership of all pharmacy production duties and achieve branch goals. On-Call Support: Provide after-hours, weekend, and holiday support as part of the on-call rotation. Communication & Process Improvement: Assist in improving communication, quality improvements, and prescription order accuracy. Develop and maintain interactions with physicians, residents, and facility administrators. Staff Education & Training: Support pharmacy staff training, evaluation, and development, with a focus on continuous improvement. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited college or school of pharmacy. Licensure: Active state pharmacy license required. Must be willing to obtain licensure for multiple states upon request. Experience: Long-term care pharmacy experience is preferred but not required. Supervisory experience is a plus. Required Skills: Strong leadership abilities and the capability to manage multiple associates. Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint or other Windows-based software programs. Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding patient and company information. Ability to relate professionally and work cooperatively with patients, families, and staff at all levels. Preferred Skills: Long-term care (LTC) pharmacy experience is a plus but not required. Eagerness to learn and grow in the pharmaceutical field.
