Database Delivery Lead - Oracle DB/SQL Server

Job Summary : We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Database Delivery Lead with significant expertise in both Oracle and MS-SQL database platforms. The ideal candidate will have a strong background, preferably within the Telecom or BFSI (Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance) sectors. This role involves collaborating with multiple database teams, ensuring project delivery meets business objectives and SLAs, providing technical guidance, driving performance improvements, ensuring high availability, managing audits (including specific regulatory audits like RBI), and overseeing database Responsibilities : - Collaborate effectively with multiple Database teams specializing in both SQL (MS-SQL) and Oracle to understand project requirements, dependencies, and deliverables. - Ensure alignment of database solutions and delivery timelines with overall business objectives. - Actively manage and resolve delivery-related issues, impediments, and risks across database teams. - Ensure strict adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for all technical database deliverables, maintaining high standards of service quality. - Provide expert technical guidance, recommendations, and mentorship to database teams on best practices for design, development, administration, and troubleshooting for both Oracle and MS-SQL environments. - Identify key service improvement areas within the database infrastructure and processes and guide teams in implementing necessary changes in the client environment. - Lead and execute database performance tuning initiatives for both Oracle and MS-SQL databases. This includes analysis, planning, and implementation of performance improvement plans. - Ensure the high availability and disaster recovery readiness of critical Oracle and MS-SQL database systems, implementing and monitoring appropriate solutions. - Front-end and manage different types of Audits, including specific regulatory audits like RBI audits and general security audits. - Take full ownership of addressing and fixing all audit findings in a timely and compliant manner. - Manage and monitor the database inventory and capacity planning. - Ensure the availability of sufficient database space and resources as per current and future business Technical Skills : - Extensive experience in Database Administration, Management, and Performance Tuning for Oracle databases. - Extensive experience in Database Administration, Management, and Performance Tuning for MS-SQL Server databases. - Proven expertise in ensuring High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions for both Oracle (e.g., RAC, Data Guard) and MS-SQL (e.g., Always On, Mirroring, Clustering). - Experience with database monitoring tools. - Strong understanding of database security principles and best practices. - Proficiency in writing and optimizing complex SQL Experience : - Significant experience working with databases in Telecom companies. - Significant experience working with databases in BFSI (Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance) companies. - Experience in managing regulatory audits, particularly RBI audits, is highly : - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. - Relevant professional certifications in Oracle and MS-SQL Server administration are a plus. - Demonstrated ability to lead technical discussions and drive solutions. - Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills (ref:hirist.tech)
