Job Overview – Medical Assistant (Orthopedic & Surgical Services): Compensation: $25/hour Location: Union, NJ Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM Join our client’s busy orthopedic practice in Union, NJ, as a Medical Assistant (Orthopedic & Surgical Services). This full-time role is perfect for candidates with experience in orthopedic or surgical specialties, comfortable supporting physicians in a high-volume clinical setting. You’ll assist with in-office procedures, manage patient flow, perform routine clinical tasks, and deliver quality patient care using EHR systems like eClinicalWorks. Responsibilities as the Medical Assistant: Patient Intake & Support: Prepare exam rooms, take vitals, and assist patients with intake processes. Procedure Assistance: Support orthopedic and surgical procedures, ensuring proper equipment setup and patient readiness. Clinical Documentation: Enter patient information and clinical notes into the EHR using eClinicalWorks. Physician Support: Assist providers during exams and treatments, including cast removal, wound care, or suture removal. Coordination & Follow-Up: Schedule follow-up appointments, answer patient inquiries, and ensure continuity of care. Supply & Equipment Management: Maintain medical inventory, sterilize instruments, and ensure clinical areas are clean and fully stocked. Qualifications for the Medical Assistant: Experience: 2 years of Medical Assistant experience, with a strong background in orthopedics or surgical specialties. Technical Skills: Proficiency with eClinicalWorks and comfort using EMR/EHR platforms. Certification: Medical Assistant certification preferred (CMA, RMA, or equivalent). Skills & Attributes: Demonstrates strong communication skills, clinical competency, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while delivering exceptional patient care.
