Senior Practitioner – Children in Care Team 3 Location: Seaham, Durham (New Office – with free parking and stunning sea views ) Rate: £181 per day Contract Type: Temporary / Agency Are you an experienced and passionate Social Worker ready to take the next step? Durham County Council is looking for a Senior Practitioner to join our Children in Care Team 3 —supporting children aged 0–16 who are cared for by the local authority. About the Role: As a Senior Practitioner, you will: Work with children in care aged 0–16 , building meaningful relationships to support their stability and wellbeing. Provide expert case oversight and guidance, supporting team members with complex casework and decision-making . Carry a caseload of approximately 25 children , most of whom are based within the Durham and North East region. Attend the office in Seaham at least twice a week for duty cover , team meetings , and Stop the Clock development days. ✅ What We’re Looking For: Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration. Substantial experience in children’s social care , ideally within a children in care or looked-after children team. In-depth knowledge of Children in Care legislation, procedures, and policies . Strong communication, supervision, and assessment skills, with a commitment to achieving the best outcomes for children. Why Join Us?
