HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER IMPACT and OPPORTUNITY The HR manager will act as the primary HR partner for site operations, reporting to the HR director. This position plays an integral role in enabling a positive employee experience by owning and continuously improving people's operational practices related to the complete employee experience. The human resources manager is directly responsible for the day-to-day human resources operations of the site. Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 10 years of progressive experience in Human Resources Excellent writing, editing, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to perform problem-solving and present conceptual information to all levels of stakeholders. Ability to negotiate and influence with operations, the union, and business stakeholders. Effectively manage time and workload. Ability to provide guidance and coaching to team members and stakeholders Have more than 7 years of HR experience in a manufacturing or automotive environment. Preferred Qualifications Great leadership and emotional intelligence to manage a group of diverse team and make it possible to accomplish the objectives. Essential Functions And Responsibilities Work closely with the management team to align HR activities with strategic and annual operational plans. Provide human resources leadership, training, and support to a small team of human resources professionals in the execution of the human resources plan. Develop and implement operational and strategic HR practices to enable the best employee experience. Research union contract proposals to determine feasibility, cost, effects on operations, and relationship to prevailing trends in the industry and geographic area. Propose new contract language, draft agreements, and proposed HR policies/procedures. Serve as a focal point for communication with plant operations and union representatives, as needed. Ensure the effective and timely execution of all human resources processes and programs; including, but not limited to, talent reviews, performance management and coaching, compensation planning, employee relations, etc. Assist with the coordination and implementation of training and coaching of employees and/or managers. Lead workforce planning through close partnership with the site operations team. Lead engagement activities to focus on organizational culture and retention. Support the development of departmental budgets, including personnel costs. Guide HR generalists in the development of department KPIs, process improvement projects. Take an active role in the talent development process, including for their own personal development. Implementation and annual updates of HR Programs Job descriptions and makes recommendations as needed. Participate in and respond to local salary surveys and analyze compensation. Oversees the performance appraisal program and coaches as needed. Oversees the reports, decisions, and outcomes of the department's initiatives in relation to the objectives. Establishes and maintains department records and reports required by HRD. Develops, recommends, and implements personnel policies and procedures. Maintains and updates the policy and procedures manual, and reports on the annual re-evaluation of policies to determine their effectiveness. Drive recruitment locally, working with the Talent Acquisition COE and HR Director on the hourly and salaried recruitment strategy. Partners with supervisors and managers to interview candidates and select candidates. Conduct orientations for new employees when necessary. Oversees career guidance programs and employee relations counseling; Ensure effective onboarding processes. Ensures organizational charts and control of open positions and replacements. Manage community relations. Manage employee relations/union relationship to ensure progressive partnership Compensation administration. Ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local labor laws within the scope of the role.
