Job Description
RESPONSIBILITIES: Financial Reporting & Compliance Prepare and review financial reports for group entities in accordance with IFRS and applicable accounting frameworks. Ensure accurate and timely financial consolidation and reporting across international entities. Oversee intercompany transactions, adjustments, and reconciliations to ensure consistency with group financial policies. Manage compliance with tax legislation, assist in tax calculations, and support group-wide tax compliance initiatives. Stay current with updates in IFRS, tax laws, and financial regulations, implementing necessary changes proactively. Coordinate and support external and internal audits, ensuring timely availability of audit-related documentation. Financial Planning & Analysis Deliver regular and ad hoc financial reports, dashboards, and analysis for senior leadership, board members, and other stakeholders. Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling initiatives, including scenario analysis and KPI tracking. Collaborate with business unit leaders to ensure integrity and relevance of financial data and reporting. Identify financial risks and opportunities, offering strategic recommendations. Supply Chain Finance & Cost Management Lead costing processes for services and goods, including client-facing presentations. Manage inventory, purchasing, and costing using appropriate INCOTERMS. Provide financial oversight on goods importation, clearing, freight, and foreign exchange implications. Ensure accurate costing and valuation of inventory across supply chain activities. Drive improvements in cash flow planning, funding requirements, and working capital optimization. Governance, Controls & Contracts Maintain financial governance in line with company policies and industry best practices. Review and validate the legal and financial integrity of supplier and customer contracts. Lead the implementation and adherence to group transfer pricing policies and update TP documentation annually. Ensure full compliance with procurement and insurance procedures. Leadership & Team Management Lead and mentor a cross-functional finance team, including accounting, procurement, creditors, and debtors personnel. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, professional development, and performance excellence. Identify and drive automation, process improvements, and efficiency in systems and workflows. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (Essential) CA(SA), CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification (Essential) Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, including at least 3 years in foreign operations (Essential) Extensive experience with IFRS, multi-entity financial consolidation, and reporting in a multi-currency environment Experience in group structures and corporate governance Strong understanding of South African tax law and compliance Prior experience in supply chain or pooling environments (Advantageous) Proficiency in Oracle Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) or similar systems (Advantageous) SKILLS: Strong business acumen and strategic mindset Proficient in financial modelling and operational forecasting Detail-oriented, analytical, and deadline-driven Solid understanding of foreign procurement, VAT, duties, FX, and logistics Experienced in group structures, intercompany loans, and funding Self-motivated, collaborative, and able to lead under pressure Please note this is a very senior position with a salary on offer commensurate with the required level of experience.
