We currently have an opening for a skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Aircraft Sheet Metal Mechanic. Key Responsibilities: Shearing/Cutting/Bending and fabrication of sheet metal within tight tolerances. Perform layout and transfer hole pattern techniques on manufactured parts as well as Installation of permanent and non-permanent fasteners and removal. Perform assembly maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) support for airstair components and other aircraft worthy parts. Attention to detail and a keen eye for quality and inspection of customer and Dow-owned product. Operation and potential maintenance of shop equipment including shears, brakes, drills, grinders, etc. Proper use of measuring equipment including dial calipers, micrometers, depth gauges, radius gauges, etc. Understand technical drawings and documentation. Ensure parts and tooling are categorized, stored, and handled accordingly. Comply with internal policies and procedures, original equipment manufacturer (OEM) manuals, along with statutory and regulatory requirements (OSHA, FAA, ISO/AS, ec) With appropriate qualifications, may inspect conformity of parts. Maintain safe and orderly working conditions. Positive attitude and ability to work with others. Must meet requirements to drive company vehicle(s). Must have reliable means of transportation to/from work sites. Applicants must provide their own sheet metal forming tools to perform the required tasks effectively. Competencies Strong Attention to Detail Communication Proficiency Mechanical Capacity Problem Solving/Analysis Time Management Thoroughness Required Education/Experience High School Diploma or GED 2 years of technical experience (Including education) 3-5 years of related sheet metal experience Preferred Education Graduate from technical school Supervisory or Management Responsibility This position has no direct supervisory or management responsibilities Primary Work Environment Climate controlled primarily; Occasionally not climate controlled Shop/Warehouse Occasional loud noises Occasional fumes and particles Frequently moving mechanical equipment and vibrations Occasionally Outdoors Physical Demands The following is representative of successfully performing the essential functions of this job.
