Job Description Job Description Job Title: Receiving Technician Location: 250 North 17th Avenue, Phoenix, AZ 85007 Department: Light Industrial Job Type: Full-Time Contract Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Some weekends required) Location: Onsite Pay Rate: $18.61/hour Closing Date: May 2, 2025, at 2:00 PM (Arizona Time) Position Overview: AZDHS is hiring a Receiving Technician to support laboratory shipping and receiving operations. This role includes handling specimen/sample kits, data entry into Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Candidates should be detail-oriented, well-organized, and experienced in laboratory logistics and customer service. Key Responsibilities: Receive and verify deliveries, including potentially infectious and/or hazardous materials Ensure proper documentation and specimen/sample integrity Prepare and ship laboratory collection kits and containers Enter/verify information in LIMS for received samples Follow safety protocols and report out-of-specification conditions Communicate with clients and lab staff to resolve shipment and submission issues Support weekend operations occasionally (1–2 Saturdays during contract) Required Skills & Qualifications: Experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) Knowledge of specimen handling, shipping, and labeling requirements Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Gmail, Drive, Calendar) Experience in laboratory record keeping and quality assurance Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and multitask in a fast-paced environment Willingness to support a diverse and inclusive work environment Preferred Skills: Experience receiving in a lab environment Familiarity with handling potentially infectious materials Requirements: Must be local to Arizona and available for in-person interviews within 1 week of posting close Must be able to start within 2 weeks of an offer.
