Heavy Diesel Mechanic /Fitter

About the role Gunther Civil Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic/Fitter to join our team in Morisset, NSW. As a full-time role, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of a diverse fleet of heavy equipment used in our construction operations. What you'll be doing Diagnose and repair various types of heavy machinery, including excavators, haul trucks, and other yellow equipment Perform regular servicing and preventative maintenance on the fleet Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues to ensure optimal performance and uptime Collaborate with the wider maintenance team to implement best practices and continually improve processes Maintain detailed records and documentation of all repair and maintenance activities Ensure a safe work environment and adherence to all relevant health and safety regulations What we're looking for Formal qualifications in Heavy Diesel Mechanics or equivalent trade certification Proven track record of at least 5 years' experience as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic/Fitter, ideally in a Civil construction or heavy industry environment Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills to quickly identify and resolve complex mechanical issues Excellent mechanical aptitude and hands-on skills to carry out maintenance and repairs efficiently Ability to work collaboratively within a team and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives Commitment to upholding safety standards and a proactive approach to workplace health and safety Experience working with small engines to complete servicing and repairs such as pumps, plate compactors and landscaping equipment Ability to complete some light vehicle maintenance and diagnostics Able to use SIS and other manufacturers software to research parts and required preventative maintenance Practical problemsolving skills Able to maintain inventory of required workshop comsumables, PM parts and spares in an organised fashion and attained in a cost effective manner What we offer Gunther Civil is a leading provider of civil construction and mining services, offering our employees a supportive and rewarding work environment.
