Introduction: The Opportunity CatholicCare Social Services are seeking to recruit a temporary, part time (8 hours per week) Food Programs - Volunteer Coordinator, to join the team for 3 months, working Mondays and Thursdays. This role is required to cover the Forster and Taree areas as needed. If you have the ability to build strong relationships, possess comprehensive knowledge of coordinating volunteers, and have excellent organisational skills, we welcome your application. Description: Position Description Key tasks: Coordinate volunteer recruitment, training, onboarding and overall management of volunteers. Work in collaboration with our community kitchens to deliver volunteer support and operational KPI’s. Manage general operations including: Rostering. Induction and ongoing training of volunteers. Ensuring safe food handling and preparation. Build relationships with stakeholders, the community, schools and parishes. WH&S. Skills and Experiences: Experience/Criteria A commitment to the Vision, Mission and Values of our organisation and willingness to actively engage in organisational events. Experience in working with and leading diverse social backgrounds and life experiences, and vulnerable people with potentially complex presentations. Demonstrated experience in managing volunteer engagement and participation. Knowledge and sound understanding of the national standards of volunteer involvement. Sound understanding of kitchen operations and safe food handling practices. Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team. Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation (such as orientation/training) and problem-solving skills. Sound Computer literacy including database management. Ability to escalate issues as appropriate to ensure they are successfully addressed, e.g. repairs versus replacing equipment Qualifications Diploma of Volunteer Management (or willingness to obtain) or equivalent relevant experience and/or extensive work history within the Social Services sector. NSW Driver Licence.
