Role details The Women's and Children's Services at the Mackay Base Hospital is seeking applications for a Clinical Midwife Consultant (Supporting Healthier Pregnancies) to join their team on a temporary basis. Your opportunity The Clinical Midwife Consultant (CMC) - Supporting Healthier Pregnancies position will facilitate systemic and operational improvements with advanced clinical expertise to support the current and future health of pregnant women and their children. The Supporting Healthier Pregnancy Initiative is a statewide investment under the Putting Queensland Kids First Strategy, aiming to empower pregnant women and their families for greater health and wellbeing through enabling healthy pathways, trusted health connections and ongoing support within the context of pregnancy as a significant life event. The initiative aims to build systems and capability for earlier access to antenatal care, identification of women that may need greater support, and enhance future-proofing preventative health practices in antenatal care, with referral pathways to support. About the Team The Women's and Children's Services stream encompasses inpatient and outpatient care for the; Obstetrics & Gynaecology ward and unit, Continuity of Care Midwifery (including group practice), Paediatrics ward and unit, Sexual Health community services, Child Protective Unit, Child and Youth Family Health and Breast Screen Queensland services. The stream works collaboratively and with a multidisciplinary approach to routine and complex models of care for women and children in the Mackay HHS catchment. About our Hospital and Health Service has 6 hospitals, 2 multi-purpose health services and 4 community health centres that employ more than 3,700 staff. The district covers an area of approximately 90,000km2 and provides services to patients and their families in Bowen, Cannonvale, Clermont, Collinsville, Dysart, Glenden, Mackay, Middlemount, Moranbah, Proserpine and Sarina.
