Butcher - Sarina

Cornetts IGA are currently looking for a highly motivated and reliable butcher to work at Cornetts IGA, Sarina. You will work under the supervision of the Meat Manager to ensure that maximum sales and customer satisfaction are achieved through producing a quality product and ensuring excellent presentation. This will include preparing meat for sale, controlling wastage through correct cutting, operating machines, complying with relevant WH&S and food safety policy and regulations, and assist in conducting regular stocktakes. You may be required to work a rotational roster which may include weekends and public holidays. Essential Criteria Trade qualified butcher Experience in retail Demonstrate good customer service skills Have a strong understanding of stock rotation and stock management Demonstrate experience in controlling wastage and meat cutting techniques Illustrate good presentation of products Strong understanding of WH&S and food safety requirements Ability to supervise and coach apprentices or meat packers (previous leadership experience highly regarded) Able to communicate clearly and negotiate with people from different backgrounds and roles (such as suppliers, customers, or staff) Good literacy and numeracy skills (for example: ability to calculate markdowns, conduct stocktakes, comprehend company policies, fill in forms) Demonstrate personal integrity and accountability for performance Culture Cornetts Supermarkets is a growing independent chain of supermarkets across Queensland which focuses on continuous improvement and the well-being of all employees.
