Skills, Qualifications & Experience Minimum of 6-months experience within the disability support industry Proven experience utilizing manual handling techniques Proof of COVID-19 vaccine as required under WA legislation Certificate III or higher in Disability, Individual Support, Youth Work, or recovery work in mental health, would be an advantage, or working towards obtaining qualification in nursing. Working with Children Check and proven experience working with children in the disability support sector Excellent driving skills and Current Valid Driver’s License Reliable and roadworthy motor vehicle to travel to participant's homes and assist them in accessing the community, including comprehensive motor vehicle insurance and registration Proven experience with on-time and accurate reporting Current NDIS Worker Screening Check or willing to apply. NDIS Worker Orientation Module certificate or willing to complete. Applicants must have the right to live and work in Australia (Citizenship or valid VISA) Police clearance less than 12-months-old First Aid, CPR & Manual Handling Certification's Experience and willingness to support people with a disability Tasks & responsibilities Provide assistance with cleaning, meal preparation & cooking and other domestic tasks. Provide assistance with daily hygiene routines such as bathing, oral care, grooming, dressing, and toileting. Monitor the client's physical and emotional well-being, documenting and reporting any concerns to supervisors or healthcare professionals. Respond appropriately to emergencies, such as falls or medical incidents, following organizational protocols. Adhering to correct manual handling procedures. Support individuals with a range of social activities, assisting to maintain their homes (domestic assistance), accessing the community such as attending appointments Support individuals to achieve and meet their goals as specified in their NDIS plan On-time incident reporting within guidelines and regulations governed by the NDIS Provide regular and on time case notes and communicate with the Care Coordinator about the health, well-being, and progress of the individual and notify any matter of concerns. Supporting to establish and maintain relationships and interests in community activities, venues, and services Supporting fitness, and assisting with social, and confidence-building activities Medication administration duties where required Passion for providing person-centered and active support and maintaining Consistency. Applicants must have knowledge of how to operate a wheelchair, including folding and unfolding, and assisting participants to get in and out of the wheelchair safely.
