Electrical Engineering Technician About the Role The Electrical Engineering Technician is responsible for the preliminary design, supervision, and technical support of the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems. This role requires an understanding of electrical systems, components, and electrical safety, as well as the ability to work with high-voltage equipment. The Electrical Engineering Technician may also be tasked with training electricians, providing technical support, and ensuring compliance with Australian and company standards. Key Responsibilities · Advanced Troubleshooting and Repair · System Design and Installation · Preventive Maintenance · Project Management · Compliance and Safety · Technical Expertise and Consultation · Training and Mentorship · Emergency Response Skills and Qualifications Education and Certifications · Current Queensland Electrical Fitter Mechanic license. · Additional skills in specialised fields (e.g., Electrical Drafting, Instrumentation, Control Systems, PLC Programming, or Power Generation Systems) will be an advantage. · Committed to complete further education (e.g., Project Management, Maintenance Management, Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering) Experience · Typically requires 5 years of experience as an electrician, with a focus on advanced electrical systems and troubleshooting. · Experience with complex electrical systems, control systems, automation, and high-voltage equipment. Technical Skills Strong knowledge of electrical safety standards. Proficiency in using electrical testing tools and diagnostic equipment. Experience with reading and interpreting electrical designs, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
