Job Title: Interventional Radiology TechnologistJob Specialty: Interventional RadiologyJob Duration: PermanentShift: Monday-Friday, 8 AM - 5 PMGuaranteed Hours: 40 hours per weekExperience: 1 year in diagnostic and 1 year in Interventional Radiology preferredLicense: ARRT (R) requiredCertifications: BLS (AHA or ARC) requiredMust-Have: Experience with strokes and traumas- Ability to take call and live within a 30-minute response timeJob Description: Assist in various invasive angio and interventional procedures performed in the Interventional Radiology Suite- Organize surgical scrub and circulation duties for total patient care during and after the procedure- Monitor patients in the Interventional Radiology area- Perform specialized radiography and fluoroscopic coverage of interventional and angiographic procedures under the direction of a physician- Explain procedures to patients and prepare them accordingly- Obtain medications, radiopharmaceuticals, or contrast materials for administration by a licensed practitioner or technologist- Circulate during procedures while maintaining responsibility for patient comfort- Provide necessary supplies for diagnostic and therapeutic invasive procedures- Remove catheters/sheaths and apply direct pressure or clamps as appropriate- Provide necessary report information to the holding area or nursing unit as needed- Record and process hemodynamic reports, contrast media records, and charges promptly and accurately- Enter patient data and inventory into the designated program and send films for review- Communicate equipment malfunctions to leadership or department engineer for repairsPhysical Requirements: Requires standing and walking while wearing 10 to 15-pound lead radiation protection aprons- Exposure to radiation, secretions, and blood- Confined working area- Normal vision, manual dexterity, and good eye and hand coordination necessary to operate equipment- Constant concentration required during proceduresAtrium Health offers a comprehensive, market-competitive Total Rewards package that includes compensation and a variety of benefits to meet your personal needs and the needs of your family.Please visit our careers page for additional information.
